Equal Employment Opportunity Compliance |
Compliance as used in our material means obedience to or conformance with any one or more of the EEO/Affirmative Action laws and/or regulations that bind persons or entities (companies) to carryout the terms and conditions of that law or regulation. E.g. Title VII prohibits discrimination against persons because of their race, color, religion or national origin. To be in compliance with Title VII would mean that the company or individual does not discriminate against individuals because of their race, color etc. Example: They would not refuse to hire someone because they are Black or female. Another example would be that of a company with government contracts of $50,000.00 or more with a workforce of at least 50 employees must have a written affirmative action program for each of its establishments. A company would be in compliance when it has affirmative action programs developed according the demands of the regulations for each of its establishments.
